We had great holidays; multiple ones in fact, making up for the ones we've missed during our passages.
Thanksgiving was at Ken's Mom's, with a scrumptious turkey, and all the trimmings. I had a second Thanksgiving with friends near Ocala a few days later, then a third turkey dinner a week later with my sister and her family up near Annapolis, Maryland. We had our local Harley riders' group Christmas party December 6; lots of fun with good friends! Christmas Eve dinner was another feast at Mom's, and Christmas Day we had a wonderful late lunch with friends, cooked by my best friend, who also happens to be our next-door neighbor.
Tomorrow I'll finally take down the little tree and all the holiday hoopla, and dig into some spring cleaning. It's not even close to spring, but with the below-freezing temps scheduled for tomorrow, it'll be a good day to clean closets and tackle the floors!
We've been able to get some good motorcycle rides in, during the warm days that happily occur at intervals amongst the chilly ones. We had one particularly special ride to the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, about 100 miles from here, for the annual "Wreaths Across America" ceremony. The ceremony is held at hundreds of cemeteries across the country to commemorate and honor our fallen veterans, as well as all members of our military family. If you click on the link, the home page shows a photo of the wreaths laid at the headstones. Incredibly moving and beautiful. I shed more than one tear, and I'm sure that many of the guys did, too!

We miss having the near-unlimited great riding weather that we've had in our summers, but it's kind of neat to experience the other seasons of our home state. Ken has been keeping busy on non-motorcycle days by tweaking and improving his ham radio rig and antennas. As a matter of fact, he bought a new antenna that looks like the spokes of a huge umbrella blown inside-out, and he spent the past two days on the roof of our 2-story house, mounting the thing. Happily, it's working well, as he hoped it would. The thing is enormous, and looks like something other-worldly has landed on the roof. Ken says that if anyone asks what it is, I'm to say that he works for NSA and is busy monitoring people's phone calls!

We spent New Year's Eve at home watching NCIS and killing a bottle of champagne.
We're looking forward to returning to beloved Sand Dollar May 1st.
